A personalized look and website for a flower shop
The challenge
The company needs a new, fresher look that better reflects its brand. The old website is too dark and difficult to navigate. The various products and services also need to be presented more clearly and informatively. The goal is to attract new, younger target groups while still catering to older customers. Visitors also need to be guided more effectively to the online store.
My role
I designed the company’s new visual identity, including colors, typography, imagery, and logo. I crafted the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for the new website using Figma. I was also involved in content creation and developed the website on the Webflow platform.
Solution
In the design process of the new visual identity I decided to combine green and orangish colors to light and airy elements. A strong source of inspiration was the stunning and authentic collection of photos of the company's products and services.
To improve search engine visibility and enhance customer engagement, I also designed a blog for the new website. The blog aims to provide tips as well as information about the company’s products and services.
Instagram plays a crucial role in the company’s communication with its customers. For this reason, I wanted to integrate the company’s Instagram feed into the new website. This also reinforces the consistency of the company’s new look.
Scope
The final project for the Web Design program at Helsinki Design School.
Webflow development implemented using:
Reflection
The project was long in duration and was carried out gradually as the studies progressed, focusing on one topic at a time. Especially software used in design work, such as Figma, Webflow, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as various tools for creating color palettes, became familiar on a fundamental level.
The website development process, from the initial kickoff meeting to the site's launch, became familiar. Communicating with the client provided valuable insights into industry terminology and best practices to ensure smooth collaboration.
I learned a lot about the factors that influence brand building and strategy. I also became familiar with the fundamentals of digital marketing and accessibility.
